Calling The Agent On the Sign

Buyer's Myth: I'll get a better deal if I just call the agent shown on the yard sign.

Fact: The listing agent has a contractual and ethical obligation to get the best price for the seller.

All agents have access to the MLS (Multiple Listing Service). We are able to see the particular components of the home you're interested in. Some savvy agents actually view a lot of the homes on the market in their area. Feel free to call an agent of your choice to view a home you're interested in. And, they will have other similar homes they can show you too.

Feel free to call me if you're interested in buying a home:

MYTH: The agent with the most listings in town is the best agent to call.
TRUTH: An agent with a lot of listings to deal with is extremely busy - how much time can they devote to you? Especially if you're a buyer and want to look at more than just their listings.
Fact is, a newer (competent) agent can be every bit as effective as a more seasoned agent. Someone working with fewer clients will have your needs in mind constantly.

Whirlpool Bathtubs Are Out - Showers Are In

The jacuzzi jets in our bathtub have been unusable for years. I think my husband said they have been "burned" out for over 15 years (way before I moved in there)! They were left on by a little kid and became burned out. Unfortunately, water leaked out of the non-operating jets and we only recently got them fixed by plugging them up.

But thankfully, according to a new report from the Wall Street Journal (10/3/14), whirlpool tubs or jacuzzi tubs are no longer fashionable! Make room (or actually gain room) by installing a shower instead! Yes, shower stalls are now in fashion!

According to the WSJ, shower stalls are now HOT! So, if you are thinking about remodeling, put in a shower. Of course, the standard bathtub is still in fashion along with its distant cousin the chrome faucet fixtures.

What is OUT OF FASHION? The good ol' bidet (the toilet looking thing that shoots water up...), the whirlpool or jacuzzi bathtub and bar sinks.
